The tell
White quartzite studded with bright RED jasper pebbles and black chert. Unmistakable once seen. Nothing else on the beach looks like it.
It is the Lorrain Formation out of Ontario, an old riverbed turned to rock. Drummond Island is the Michigan place to look. The ice carried it down, so it turns up as float well south of there too.
