The tell
A dark gray-green muddy matrix with ANGULAR fragments of all sorts scattered through it at random. Puddingstone is white with red.
It is glacial debris dumped into deep water off an ice sheet 2.3 billion years ago. The fragments are what that ice was carrying. Older than complex life, and it still looks like someone stirred gravel into wet cement.
